What is the unforgivable offense?

Forgiveness.

What is the unforgivable offense? Is it murder? Affair? Slander? Worse?

Jesus, who forgave us everything through His perfect life, death, resurrection as an atonement for our sins, has the final say:

“Then Peter came up and said to him, "Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

He then goes on to talk about the parable of the unforgiving servant. The one who was forgiven $6 billion in debt only to immediately abuse one who owed him $12,000.

“And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?' And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart."”

So truly, the unforgivable offense is to be unforgiving. For it is at the cross, where our precious Savior hung, that we laid our own debts. In turn, we are called to a life not of revenge but to lovingly proclaim to the heart of our enemies to do the same. (Romans 12)

The bondage to sin is set free by the grace and forgiveness of our Lord. Loose then the ropes of which tie our hearts to worldly offenses that keep us from moving forward into the good works God has prepared.
